Next week I am going to Australia for a month, on a business trip. I finish most all of my errands by phone, so it is very important for me to always stay connected. I know that Australia has many scarcely populated areas, and I really do not want to risk loosing my clients while being unavailable. So, I was wondering which cell phone should I use while I am there?

First, I think you should know that both the coverage and service in Australia are good. Coverage is great near the roads and towns, but you will rarely be unavailable even when in the less inhibited areas. As for the phones Australia uses the GSM service, as 190 other countries in the world, which allows great reception, GPRS and internet access, so the phones are also compatible. You probably know that you can take the roaming service while there, but in my opinion much better and cheaper solution is to just buy prepaid SIM card of one of their mobile providers and put it in GSM cell phone. By using Australian SIM card you will pay Australian low phone rates for outgoing calls, and wont have to pay anything for accepting incoming calls.
