I am not quite sure, but it seems to me that this carnival is held on March 19th, in the name of the patron saint of the town - San Giuseppe. It is when procession is held, a ceremony with the local craftsman...The Feast lasts whole day and it ends in midnight with a firework. But the citizens start preparing for the carnival right after Christmas, decorating their stores, houses etc. It is really nice to be there during this period. I love Sicily, whole of it. It is so lively, so picturesque, and something that just must be seen. Casteldaccia is a wonderful little town, with people so warm.
