On my way through Texas, I will have to stop over in San Antonio, and finish some work, and when I calculated all the time that it will take me and how tired I will be, I realized that it will be much better to spend a night there than to drive at night. So, if I could get a recommendation of some nice but not expensive hotel there, it would really be great.

On one such an occasion, I stayed at the Courtyard San Antonio Downtown, and one of the main reasons for choosing this place exactly was great location and free parking (I was with car, too). It turned out to be even better than I expected, and the price I paid for room was less than I would pay in some better hotels.
