My husband and I are going to visit Surinam and French Guiana this year. I read many articles about these two countries and, if half of what they advertise is true, we will have a very good vacation. What is the best time for hiking in French Guiana? Both of us can’t imagine a good vacation without hiking.

French Guiana is a nice and popular tourist destination so you can go there whenever you want. Climate is very nice and the temperatures are even throughout the year. However, there are rainy and dry seasons so you may want to choose dry season if you want to enjoy hiking there.

You are right. My wife and I went there in September and had wonderful time. We went on several good hiking trips. It was really amazing. However, my brother was there in May and he told me that he had plenty of rain during his visit to French Guiana so he was unable to go on any hiking trips.

Yes, from August to December is the best time not only for hiking but for other activities as well. Canoeing is my favorite. You can go on canoeing from vast majority of the rivers even without a tour operator. On top of that, you may try sailing, windsurfing or kitesurfing, especially on Kourou and Montjoly beaches.
