My wife and I will probably spend few days in Revelstoke. We didn’t plan to go there but our host in Calgary suggested us to visit the place. She was so convincing and we decided to give it a try. While there, we would like to see as much as possible but also to try local specialties. Any suggestion regarding the best restaurant in Revelstoke?

Well, I don’t know if this one is the best, but we liked it very much. Grizzly Sports Pub & Grill is a good and inexpensive place to eat. Its interior is decorated in sports style and big screen TV is perfectly located there. The staff (waitress) was really efficient and kind so we enjoyed our time there. We paid some $9.- for the dinner which was really cheap.

I am not a typical gourmet and I don’t like fancy food with complicated names. I like burgers and beer and I can’t resist them. I know that it is not exactly a health food but I indulge myself from time to time. I had nice burger and beer at Regent Inn hotel and restaurant. It was really tasty. The service was a bit slow but not too much.

We had few nice meals at the Dining Room of the Hillcrest Hotel. There are various fresh ingredients there, fantastic views of the Monashee and Selkirk Mountains and really good and kind staff. In the evening, the chef offers various temptations from the Continental and International cuisines. During summer, dining on the outdoor terrace is fabulous.

We were told about Woolsey by a couple of servers at a close-by resort we were staying at (but didn't eat at). The food was excellent. The service was outstanding. We were surprised with the Peller wine offering by the glass... being from Ontario we were not interested and this is not one of Ontario's best. Would have preferred more BC wines by the glass but on balance the food made up for it and we simply ordered a bottle of Blue Mountain. The Chocolate Torte and Mousse were delicious. The coffee was great. We had trouble deciding on the appetizers and mains. This is truly a gem in Revelstoke. Do not be turned away by our $per person... we over-indulged. You can have a great meal for less.
