I won a free weekend in Costa Rica with the possibility to choose the exact place I would like to be accommodated in. So I chose Tamarindo as my final destination.
This is my first time in this part of the world. It sounds like paradise, but as a matter of fact, I dont know much about it, and, unfortunately, I know nobody who traveled there. So I would like someone to inform me a little, for example, about the beach in Tamarindo, whats it like, and which the nearest good beaches are.

Tamarindo is one of the livelier beach cities, and its beach is large enough for both kinds of people, those looking for ways to have fun and those who prefer more peaceful beaches.
I can just tell you that Costa Ricas beaches are not accidentally considered to be among the most wonderful in the world. Near Tamarindo are Playa Grande, Playa Flamingo and Playa Negra, as well as many others maybe less familiar.
But having in mind that you only have a weekend at disposal, you will probably have enough time just to fall in love with this part of the world and wish to come back again, but next time to stay there longer and get to know the other beaches.
