I’m traveling to Sicily very soon. I know that people usually connect this part of Italy with mob and dangerous people. I want to see the other, bright side of the coin. I know that it is full of picturesque, colorful little towns and villages. Can you tell me is there any airport in Trapani, which is the first stop of my Sicilian tour?

Trapani is an attractive port situated in the western part of Sicily. It is famous for fishing tuna and fish production. But, don’t think that it is just an industrial town where nothing can be seen. It is swarming with monuments and historical sights dating back from medieval period. It is a relaxed place with Mediterranean climate and atmosphere and you will feel rejuvenated after your stay there. The good news is that there is an airport there, so it is easily accessible. Birgi is actually a military airport which is used also for civil purposes. As far as I know it is pretty affordable and I think that there is some kind of shuttle or bus service to the Trapani.
