Amsterdam is one of the most amazing cities in Europe. I can easily say it is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited, and I have been to many. There are plenty of things to be seen and done there. Nightlife is very good and people are very friendly. Also, the food there is excellent and it has very peculiar charm you will instantly like. When it comes to weather, I do not think you have anything to worry about in May. It is a perfect time to go to Amsterdam, as you will avoid cold weather of late winter, and unbearable heat and tourist crowds of the summer. I do not think there is anything that should deter you from visiting Amsterdam. Best of luck.
