Mt brother and I are planning a trip to Idaho. Among other things, we want visit Lake Pend Oreille and catch some fishing. We have never been there, but we heard some fantastic stories about it. We could use some help in finding lodging there. Can someone recommend good accommodation near Lake Pend Oreille?

I went there fishing last year, it was fantastic. Trout are incredible. As for the lodging I can recommend The Country Inn in Sandpoint. Very cozy place and the usual amenities, for less then 40 dollars. The breakfast is fantastic and you even get a free news papers. The owner is a great cook.
We stayed in Meriwether Inn when we were at Lake Pend Oreille few years back. It’s very decent motel in Clark Fork, on Pend Oreille Scenic Byway. The rooms are nice and clean and the food is excellent. Plus, the whole area is still underdeveloped, so you really have a feeling that you are in nature.

I stayed in Best Western Edgewater Resort last year with my family. It’s an excellent resort, on the lake shore, and only minutes away from Sandpoint downtown. The rooms are great with a view on the lake and they have an indoor pool. You will really enjoy it there.
